Back Bay Professional Risks (Back Bay) is a new dedicated underwriting vehicle specifically established to provide Professional Indemnity (Civil Liability) insurance capacity for professional services firms operating in the Australian Design, Engineering, Architecture and Miscellaneous Professions sectors.

Back Bay will operate as a vertically integrated ‘Registered Business Name’ of Market Lane Insurance Group Pty Ltd, a leading independent Australian wholesale insurance underwriting agency. Current trading names of Market Lane include The Barn Underwriting Agency, GOAT Insurance, Fairlight Medical Insurance and MLX Risk Partners.

Target occupations for consideration under the facility include entities such as:

  • Construction Design Services (e.g. Architects and Drafting)

  • Consulting Engineering Services (e.g. Civil, Structural, Mechanical etc.)

  • Project Management Services

  • Miscellaneous Professions (e.g. NATA Accredited Testing, Geologists, Real Estate, Management Consultants etc.)

I've worked in the Insurance industry for over 15 years in various roles including Claims, Accounting & Underwriting; working for underwriting agencies and global Insurers both in Australia & the UK.
